This permit is to allow heavy rotators that are beyond the SPIF limits empty, we are viewed as a “straight truck” when empty, currently your allowed 9072kgs on the steer and 21300kg on a tridem group, most rotators are over the 21300kg on the rear group empty. Ontario also doesn’t recognize a 5 axle straight truck unless it is twin steer tri drive, most 5 axles are twin steer with tandem drive and a pusher axle, this permit allows your rotator to operate on any roadway in the province empty.
Loaded units will run under the O/O annual permit which is currently good for Kings and Queens highways only, we are working with the province to get this permit opened up to cover all roads.
